US sources have managed to leak the full specifications of the PlayStation 5 Pro console, which has been on the agenda with leaks for a while. Codenamed “Trinity”, the PS5 Pro is rumored to feature a much more powerful GPU and faster CPU compared to the base console.
The GPU in the PS5 Pro is reportedly 45 percent more powerful than the standard model. Sony is also working on a new ray-tracing architecture that is claimed to be up to three times faster. The CPU will remain the same, but will run at a clock speed of 3.85GHz, about a 10 percent increase over the PS5.
The memory capacity of the console will increase. PS5 Pro is said to have 28 percent faster memory running at 576GB/s bandwidth. PS5 Pro is rumored to have a new “Spectral Super Resolution” upscaling solution. This will be similar to NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR. It will use artificial intelligence and deep learning to improve image quality.
Sony will also encourage developers to develop games optimized for the PS5 Pro. It was revealed that PS5 Pro-exclusive games will be supported thanks to the “Trinity Enhanced” label.
The new console is expected in the second half of this year. However, Sony has yet to confirm these plans and the leaked specs.
